2828944 - How to reactivate an inactive Work Item in Plan Customer Projects

A Work Item from a Work package is shown as Inactive.

Since this Work Item is inactive, when trying to make a change to the Work Package, the message "Please choose a different work item. xxxxxx is inactive" is displayed.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open app 'Plan Customer Projects;
2. Search for a Project > click on Edit;
3. Navigate to the Work Packages tab;
4. Select one Work Package to open its details;
5. Notice that a specific Work Package will be displayed as inactive.

A Work Item can be inactive if, for instance, it has been used to plan a resource.

Although it remains assigned to the Work Package, the item becomes inactive.

Inactive Work Items cannot be used to plan activities and/or to staff resources in the Work Package. In addition, they cannot be used to post actuals.

To Reactivate a Work Item, the following steps can be performed within the project:

1. Open the Work packages tab on the affected project;
2. Click on the Work item for the desired Work Package;
3. Select Edit > uncheck the Work Item that is Inactive;
4. Click OK > Save.

After doing so, the Work Item will be active again.
