2828972 - Error in phase VERSCHK_INI during S/4HANA 1809 conversion

Symptom

When using SUM for a conversion to SAP S/4HANA 1809, the following error occurs in phase PREP_INIT/VERSCHK_INI:

  • Log file /path/to/SUM/abap/log/PHASES.LOG:

    4WETQ399 Component 'SAP_BW' did not match requirements!
    4WETQ399 Component 'SAP_BASIS' did not match requirements!
    4WETQ399 Component 'SAP_APPL' did not match requirements!
    3 ETQ399 CheckCompRel returns -1 (nrMinus=3, nrUnknown=176).
    4 ETQ010 Date & Time: <timestamp>
    1EETQ399 Last error code set is: Start Release configuration
    ...
    1EETQ399X<component list> is not supported
    1EETQ399XCompare the release of your SAP system with the requirements listed in the documentation.
    1EETQ203 Upgrade phase "VERSCHK_INI" aborted with errors ("<timestamp>")

However, as per KBA 2364675, the start release is supported (e.g. system is currently on EHP8).
