Symptom

  • The default value of "procedure cache size" is written as 7000 in Reference Manual
  • Getting 5846 error when running sp_configure "procedure cache size", 7000

    Msg 5846, Level 16, State 2:
    Server '<Server>', Procedure 'sp_configure', Line 1335:
    Illegal value '7000' specified for configuration option 'procedure cache size'.
    The legal values are between '14000' and '2147483647'.
    (return status = 1)
