Symptom
No job results are being returned when performing a keyword search for languages that do not use spaces to separate words, such as Chinese, Thai, Japanese, etc.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Marketing
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the RMK site
- Search by a Chinese keyword, such as 销售
- See that it's not returning any values, although there is a job requisition with the word above in the job title
Cause
The whole title of the job requisition doesn't have any spaces, so the database for RMK only indexes the words separately, either by a comma, space, a dot, etc.
For languages without spaces between words, such as Chinease, Thai, Japanese, etc., the database understands this one single word instead of many.
Resolution
This is actually a system design. As of now, there are no plans to enhance this feature on the road map.
A workaround would be to add a keyword section in the job description so you can split up these words. If this is not a valid workaround for you, we advise to contact your partner to discuss an appropriate solution according to your recruiting process.
If you would like to request an improvement for the keyword search, please, submit your idea in our Customer Influence page. This platform allows customers to propose new ideas, vote on existing ones, post comments, and receive feedback directly from the Product Management team.
