2830127 - Maintaining Measurement Logs For Registered Products When Migrating Via Data Workbench.

Symptom

You want to upload Measurement Logs for Registered Products via Data Workbench, however there are no headers relating to measurements in the Registered Product template.

Environment

  • SAP Cloud for Customer
  • SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

Download Registered Product template via Data Workbench:

  1. Navigate to the Data Workbench work center.
  2. Select the Import tab.
  3. Search for and select Registered Product.
  4. Select Next.
  5. Execute Export.

After analyzing the headers in the Registered Product template, you can see there are no headers relating to measurements.

Cause

This is the expected behavior.

Resolution

In order to insert the measurements in Registered Products, an insert of Measurement Points must be used.

This can be done by following these steps:

  1. In the Measurement Point template, the header 'Installation_Point_ID' refers to the Registered Product you want to upload this measurement to.
  2. To insert a measurement for Registered Product XXX (XXX represents the Registered Product),  Installation_Point_ID = The ID of this Registered Product.
  3. Fill and complete the remaining mandatory fields in the Measurement Point template.
  4. Navigate to the Data Workbench work center.
  5. Select the Import tab.
  6. Select Insert.
  7. Select Individual Object.
  8. Search for and select the Measurement Point object.
  9. Execute Import.
