2831493 - Agent certificate common name does not match the canonical host name

Symptom

When trying to connect a Diagnostics Agents to a Solution Manager 7.2 by using the smdsetup script it fails with the error message:

smdsetup managingconf hostname:"sapms://<solman.full.qual.host.name>" port:"<81xx>"
parameter 'managingconf' ignored because of missing value
------- Prerequisites ----------
 - Java version OK.
 - Agent certificate check ERROR:
 -- Agent certificate common name '<logicalhostname>' does not match the canonical host name '<physical/virtualhostname>'
Prerequiste Check: FAILED
