2831735 - How to stop Internal Employees from Overbooking Time for Project Tasks?


For external employees(service agents) who are working on a project, the system throws an error message in timesheet when the value for the planned work for that user has been reached .
You want the system to trigger a hard stop for internal employees as well when they are trying to overbook time as it happens in case of external employees.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login as an Internal Employee
  2. Go to Home work center
  3. Select view Time
  4. Select Edit Time Sheet
  5. Enter the time recording for a project task where you have already completed time recording for total planned hours
  6. System does not show any error


It is not possible to put a hard stop on the internal employees from overbooking time in the current ByDesign system.


You can use the approval process for time recording, where approver can reject the additional time entries if required when the time sheet is sent for approval.

Alternately you can make use of the Overtime functionality in Business ByDesign system.
