Symptom

  • While performing a System Upgrade or S/4 HANA Conversion via the Software Update Manager (SUM), an error occurs in phase "PREP_INIT/VERSCHK_INI". 
  • The error is as below.
    "Checks after phase PREP_INIT/VERSCHK_INI were negative!".  "Start Release configuration is not supported. Compare the release of your SAP system with the requirements listed in the documentation."
  • The system is an ERP system.
  • In the stack XML file, the product instance
    -EHP8 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 - Finbasis Standalone is included in the product stack as well as EHP8 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 - Central Applications
    and / or
    -SAP ERP 6.0 - SAP NW -Business Intelligence is included in the product stak as well as SAP NETWEAVER 7.5 - Business Intelligence
    and / or
    -SAP ERP 6.0 - SAP FSCM - FSCM Server (ABAP) is included in the product stack as well EHP8 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 - Central Applications
