Symptom
When external candidate creates a profile, fields "Country/Region Code" and "Phone Number" are available though they are not configured in the Candidate Profile Template. Is it possible to remove these fields?

Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to External Career Site
- Create a candidate profile
- On account creation page, these fields are available:
- Country/Region Code
- Phone Number
Cause
To help minimize duplicate candidate creation, SuccessFactors provides a feature that requires candidates to enter their phone number when creating a profile.
When this option is enabled, the "Country/Region Code" and "Phone Number" fields are added to candidate creation. The system uses these fields to check for existing candidates with the same phone details and prevents creating duplicate candidate profiles.
This validation applies to External Candidate view, Recruiter view, and Agency User view. It does not apply to Employee Referral view.
Resolution
These are the steps to disable or enable the "Country/Region Code" and "Phone Numbers" fields from the initial candidate creation page:
- Go to Admin Center > Manage Duplicate Candidates > Advanced Options
- Under "Enforce additional candidate profile duplicity check upon candidate profile creation", use the option "Check country/region code and phone number" to enable or disable the feature
- Click "Save" button
