2833279 - Excel Reports can be Inserted Despite Settings in Configure Actions

Symptom

You have made use of the settings in Business Analytics > Configure Actions to hide the option to download reports to Excel. However, when the users log on to Excel and click Insert, they still can insert all reports to which they are assigned.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the work center Business Analytics.
  2. Select the view Common Tasks.
  3. Click Configure Actions.
  4. Select the option Microsoft Excel and click Hide.
  5. Save.
  6. Open Excel.
  7. Logon to the C4C system with an business user.
  8. Click Insert.

You will see all reports listed here.

Cause

This setting only hides the option to download data from the system to Excel, so that the downloaded file cannot be edited or used any further in another way. However, if a user is authorized to work with a report in the system and if he is using the Excel add-in, this user is also authorized to work on the report in Excel.

There is no option to hide the Insert feature in Excel.

Resolution

This is the correct behavior. You can suggest changes on the Continuous Influence Session.
