2834776 - Performance Issues when Opening the Value Help in the Production Task Data Source

You are opening the value help for the characteristic Business Partner Name in the virtual data source Production Task (technical ID SCMPTV01) or a report based on it and receive an error message.

SAP Business by Design

1. Go to the work center Business Analytics and the view Design Data Sources.
2. Show all the data sources and search for the data source Production Task (technical ID SCMPTV01).
3. Go to the Selection tab and open the value help for characteristic Business Partner Name.
4. You will receive an error message saying Failed to open report "Internal Server Error" - report an incident. (same error message appears when you open the value help in a report based on top of this data source)

The Production Task data source is a virtual data source. This issue occurs due to performance issues. When the value help is selected the program tries to execute data for all the different production tasks.

Please use the other available characteristics for the selection such as Task ID, Order ID, Product ID, Request ID, Resource ID or any other ID field.

Our developers are aware of this behaviour and will try to improve it in future releases.

To improve the performance and as a workaround please create a new selection for the frequently used values in your customized report.
