2836380 - Error: 'Change of category from 1 to 2 for account type XYZ not possible'

Symptom

You are trying to change the time account type category but the system throws error: 'Change of category from 1 to 2 for account type XYZ not possible'.

XYZ = The name of the time account

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
  2. Go to the Overview view.
  3. Search for the fine-tuning activity 'Time Account - <country>' and open it.
  4. Click on Time Maintain Account Types to open it.
  5. Try to change the category of one of the present records and then save.
  6. The error: 'Change of category from 1 to 2 for account type XYZ not possible' is thrown.

Cause

It is not currently possible to change the time account type category. This functionality is not supported.

Resolution

We suggest to create a new record and add the desired category to it.
