2836623 - Is is possible to set the country in a Job Requisition according to the country of a user using Business Rules - Recruiting Management

Symptom

Is is possible to set the country in a Job Requisition according to the country of the user creating the Job Requisition using Business Rules?

Environment

 SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Resolution

This specifically depends on the scenario and configuration being used on your instance. You can be creating your Requisitions straight out from Recruiting Managemet or create it using EC Integration via Position Org Chart.

  1. If you are creating your requisition straight out from Recruiting Management, you will need to associate this change to an Save Trigger or to a Field change trigger, since it is known that the Initialize rules can only change the fields on the very first screen of the requisition Creation. We have that documented on the article 2579583 - Initialize business rule not populating fields on the Job Requisition - Recruiting Management
  2. Now, if you are using Position Org Chart to create the Requisition, you can perform the exact same mapping as you are when mapping the country from the position, but you will not be able to access the country of the user that is performing the action, you will need to select some user that is related to the Position. We have an example of mapping that can be done for that, you just need to change the source field to the user in question.
