SAP Knowledge Base Article - Preview

2837090 - Error: An install is already running at this location.

Symptom

When attempting to patch an installation of SAP BusinessObjects 4.2 it simply fails early in the process and you get the following lines at the end of the install log:

Error: An install is already running at this location.
PerlUISession::ShowMessage() called.
Exiting Unix main function

You might also see this line:

Error: Detected another engine running using the same root folder.  Aborting
