Symptom
- SAP IQ login IDs that are enabled to use LDAP external user authentication may have LDAP synchronised passwords that do not comply with SAP IQ password restrictions.
- SAP IQ security functionality is unable to enforce SAP IQ password restrictions for LDAP passwords as they are presented in an encrypted format.
- LDAP passwords containing restricted characters like semicolons ; can end up being stored as valid passwords in the SAP IQ system table.
- DBISQL client connections to SAP IQ using a password containing a restricted semicolon character will fail with an invalid user ID or password error.
