2837424 - Unable to stop ECDA server using stopsrvr command

Symptom

  • Unable to stop the ECDA service using /sybase/DC-15_0/bin/stopsrvr -SServerName.  Example:

    ./stopsrvr -SServerName 
    Initiating shutdown of server: ServerName
    ERROR connecting to: ServerName 

  • ECDA Server Log shows:

    LogClientMessages 09/09/2019 12:56:08.528267 ServerName  NULL NULL NULL Error: 30001 Severity: 16 Service [ServerName] not found. Note: If using Service Name Redirection, user ID is case sensitive. <SMR>
    LogClientLogin 09/09/2019 12:56:08.528295 ServerName 101 sa stopsrvr ...Connection refused. Service 'ServerName' not found.

  • ISQL into the ServerName did not work.
