2837725 - java.lang.RuntimeException: Error initializing storage when trying to login onto fiorified launchpad

Symptom

  • "Logon failed for RESTful Web Services. Contact system administrator" error when trying to login to /BOE/BILaunchpad (Fiorified BI Launchpad)
  • The Tomcat stderr.log traces show following error :
    SEVERE [https-jsse-nio2-8443-exec-11] org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve.invoke Allocate exception for servlet [equinoxbridgeservlet]
    java.lang.RuntimeException: Error initializing storage.
    at org.eclipse.equinox.servletbridge.FrameworkLauncher.start(FrameworkLauncher.java:417)
    at org.eclipse.equinox.servletbridge.BridgeServlet.init(BridgeServlet.java:99)
    at javax.servlet.GenericServlet.init(GenericServlet.java:158)
  • This same error can also be seen going to /biprws in a browser manually
