2839592 - unable to find valid certification path to requested target

Symptom

  • An https destination is added in the cockpit
  • Pinging the backend destination server is not working.
  • The logs show the error :

    Failed to execute ping com.sap.mobile.platform.server.ping.logic.PingException: IOException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target.
