Symptom
Location_obj field becomes blank when the Job Start Date is updated in the Job Requisition and the following Error message is received
"Changing the field Target Start Date would delete all the existing values for the field Location. Do you wish to continue?"
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Job Requisition.
- Change Start date
- Error Message appears.
- Location field becomes empty.
Cause
- Location object having multiselect = true in the Job Requsition Template
- When the option Allow users to select only those instances that are active as of the date in the Job Start Date field in the Job Requisition and Offer Detail pages has been enabled under Manage Recruiting Settings
Resolution
Project Management has confirmed this to be working as Expected.
When you try to change the jobStartDate field, one of the following two scenarios can occur:
-
If you have Edit permission on the Location field, a dialog displays a warning message indicating that the Location values will be deleted.
-
If you confirm the action, the value will be deleted and you have to save the Job Requisition for the changes to persist.
-
If you cancel the action, the jobStartDate will be reset to the previous value (meaning it cannot be changed), and the Location value will not be affected.
Workaround: Disable the option Allow users to select only those instances that are active as of the date in the Job Start Date field in the Job Requisition and Offer Detail pages.
