2842411 - Query fails with a Non_Fatal at dfo_GroupBy.cxx on call to dfo_GroupBy::ReplaceShadowDFEs - SAP IQ

Symptom

  • A query containing an INSERT INTO,  followed by an UPDATE failed with a Non-Fatal IQ Internal Error Detected at dflib/dfo_GroupBy.cxx

  • A thread stack trace shows the failing sequence of the following calls 
    dfo_GroupBy::ReplaceShadowDFEs
    dfo::ReplaceShadowDFEs
    dfo::ReplaceShadowDFEs
    dfo::ReplaceShadowDFEs
    dfo_GroupBy::ReplaceShadowDFEs
    dfo::ReplaceShadowDFEs
    dfo::ReplaceShadowDFEs
    dfo_GroupBy::ReplaceShadowDFEs
    dfo::ReplaceShadowDFEs
    dfo::ReplaceShadowDFEs
    opt_Driver::ApplyShadowTransform
    opt_Driver::AddParallelShadowSubtrees
  • error messages seen after the stack trace 
    Exception Thrown from dflib/dfo_GroupBy.cxx:2806
    O/S Err#: 0, ErrID: 9216 (df_Exception); SQLCode: -1006000, SQLState: 'QBA00', Severity: 23
    IQ Internal error. Please report this to SAP IQ support.
  • This is a very rare occurring issue and difficult to reproduce. The failing query runs successfully when resubmitted.
