Symptom

When starting Analysis Office, the error below occurs:

An error occurred while trying to apply the default User Interface Customization profile '<XYZ>'.
Please make sure that the profile exists and contains valid XML, then open the User Interface Customization dialog box from the File Menu and fix any issues.

An error occurred while trying to read the profile '<XYZ>'.

Could not find file '<XYZ>'.

Environment

Analysis for Microsoft Office, Excel for Office 365

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Start Excel / Analysis Office;
  2. Confirm the error;

Cause

The issue occurs because there is a profile path configured in Analysis Office and the file does not exist.

Resolution

  1. Go to Excel File > Analysis > Customize Analysis > Technical Configuration;
  2. Check the settings below:

  3. If there is a path and custom file configured in any of the settings above, either delete the entry (i.e. clear the field) or make sure the file is available in the machine.
