Symptom
You change a Material which was previously Non Batch-Managed to Batch-Managed. Now, you would like to transfer the current Stock of the Material in your Inventory to another Logistics Area, but when you try to do Post Goods Issue, the system is asking you to maintain the Identified Stock ID. Even though you have created and activated an Identified Stock ID for the said Material, you cannot use it, as the system does not recognize the new Identified Stock ID for this Stock.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Outbound Logistics work center.
- Go to Delivery Proposal view.
- Find and select the relevant Delivery Proposal ID.
- Select Post Goods Issue.
- In the now open Create Outbound Delivery and Goods Issue screen, select Propose Quantities.
- The system triggers the error message "Value for identified stock missing".
- Now click the value selector in the Identified Stock ID field.
- The previously created and activated Identified Stock ID cannot be found.
Cause
Since the Product master data has Identified Stock Profile as Batch-Managed, you need to enter the Identified Stock for every execution process. This is the correct and expected behavior of the system. The error is correct in this case.
As the current Inventory is without Identified Stock ID, you need to perform a Change of Stock and assign an Identified Stock to it. Only then you will be able to use the Stock against a process.
Resolution
To do this, please follow the below process:
- Go to Internal Logistics work center.
- Go to Common Tasks view.
- Choose Change of Stock.
- Enter the relevant Site ID.
- Click Add Row and enter the relevant Product ID and Product Quantity.
- Click the Next button.
- Use the value selector in the field Changed Identified Stock ID to assign the relevant Identified Stock ID.
- Click the Next button.
- Review your entries and finish the Change of Stock by choosing the Finish button.
- Now you can proceed with the Stock Transfer.
