2844605 - Inactive objects can be assigned when selecting a new position- Employee Central

Symptom

After transfer an employee to a new position is noted that there is an object (department, cost center, division and etc...) within position configuration that is no longer active. However system allowed you to save the job information with the inactive data.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
  • Position Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to an Employee Profile
  2. Go to Take Action
  3. Click on Change Job and Compensation Information
  4. Change employee position for a new position:

    Department on the new position is currently inactive:

  6. Click on Save Job Information changes

Result: Job Information is saved with no issues and system not validate if the position data is active or not.

Resolution

This is expected behavior of the system, as the sync will just copy the existing data on position and copy in the job information and system does not validate if the records that are stored in the position are active.
