2844772 - "Communication scenario already in use" when creating/modifying a communication arrangement

Symptom

When creating/editing a Communication Arrangement, the error message "Communication scenario already in use" is appearing when saving.

Environment

  • SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to application "Communication Arrangements".
  2. Create a new Communication Arrangement using SAP standard communication scenario Or edit an existing Communication Arrangement.
  3. Save.
  4. Error "Communication scenario already in use" appears.

Cause

There are more than one Communication Arrangement with the same standard Communication Scenario ID / Scenario. Some Communication Scenarios only support one instance per client.

Resolution

Delete the duplicate communication arrangements with the same standard Communication Scenario ID (even the drafted).
