Symptom
While adding an e-mail template in a campaign's Build tab you get the error "Change not possible; object does not exist".
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Reproducing the Issue
-
Go to the Sales Campaign workcenter.
- Go to the Campaign view.
- Open a Campaign id XYZ (XYZ represents campaign id).
- Go to the Build tab.
- Select the target group.
- Select Send E-mail and Select E-mail Template PQR (PQR represents E-mail template id).
- Click Apply.
You get the error message: "Change not possible; Object does not support".
Once you save the campaign, you notice that the campaign saved successfully. However, if you go back to the Details tab, you see that the Target Group field is blank.
Cause
The error message shows up for those Campaigns imported via Data Work Bench without entering or maintaining the Target Group id in the migration excel.
Resolution
If the Target Group id field is blank in the excel/csv file during import, the error message comes up. Please don't import campaigns without maintaining the target group id.
- Go to the Sales Campaign workcenter.
- Go to the Campaign View.
- Open a Campaign id XYZ.
- Go to the Build tab.
- Select the target group.
- Select Send E-mail and Select E-mail Template PQR.
- Click Apply.
- Overrule the error message and click Save.
- You will notice that the campaign saves.
- Now go to the Details facet, you will see that target group field is blank.
- Now switch back to the Build tab, here the target group field is blank.
- Once again select the relevant target group and e-mail template and save.
The issue will be permanently rectified and the campaign can be activated.
