Symptom

Issue [sp_showprogress <spid>,long] several times to monitor the [update statistics] process, bu some information are incorrect.

  • [Completed in:] value doesn't change (it stays as 0 or 100%) between the several execution.
  • [Overall completion of this process(Based on processed row count)] is not increased in the latter execution.
  • [Overall completion of this process(Based on processed row count):] shows 100.0000% though the update statistics command is still executing.
