2846271 - ERROR: "A Configuration with the same Person Type and Element Type already exists"

You are tying to save your configuration in Manage Business Configuration after adding a person type and you are getting an error saying:

"A Configuration with the same Person Type and Element Type already exists"

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) - All Versions

1. Go to Manage Business Configuration;
2. Select an HRIS element or a Country Specific HRIS element;
3. Try to save it and get the error mentioned;

You have an instance of the Person Type object locked.

When you remove the HRIS element from the datamodel without first removing the person type, it locks the person type object which then causes this error if you try to add it back.

• If you are getting this error for Global HRIS elements (jobInfo, personalInfo, etc.);

1. Go to Manage Data;
2. Search by Person Element Configuration;
3. Delete the Person Element Configuration that you are trying to add;

• If you are getting this error for Country Specific HRIS elements (jobInfo_BRA, jobInfo_USA, etc);

2. Search by Localized Person Configuration;
3. Delete the Person Element Configuration that you are trying to add;
