2846985 - Lower Limit higher than the Target Value in a Master Inspection Characteristic

Symptom

The lower limit deviation of tolerance key is added to the target value instead of being subtracted from the target value. It makes the lower limit higher than the target value itself.

For example - for the tolerance key B10 - 'B10  ISO 286 Limit deviations for holes':

  • If the target value = 3, then
  • upper limit = 3.180 = 3 + 0.180, but
  • lower limit = 3.140 = 3 + 0.140, and not 2.860 = 3 - 0.140.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
