Symptom
You have created a product count for the product ABC (ABC represents the exact ID of the product) that currently does not have any stock available. While you are confirming the task, you want to change the Actual Quantity for the product. However, this is not possible as the respective field is inactive (greyed out).
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Work center Execution.
- View Count Tasks.
- Show Count Tasks by Selection and find task XYZ (XYZ represents the exact ID of the task).
- Click the Confirm button.
Result: you will see that for product ABC (that is currently not available on stock) the Product Actual Quantity field has automatically proposed a quantity of 0 ea and this cannot be modified as the field is greyed out.
Cause
This is the expected system behaviour. It is not possible to change or enter any actual quantity in the Physical Inventory Count Task for the items which are not available on stock. However, the system allows you to check the box “Zero Quantity”.
Resolution
If you want to change the stock you should perform an Inventory Adjustment for the respective product and logistics area.
- Go to the Work center Physical Inventory.
- Select the Common Task New Inventory Adjustment.
