2851155 - Adding Involved Parties With Role Partner in Opportunities and Sales Quotes Shows Different Name List

In the given example, you would like the value help in your Quotes, to show all Business Partners listed in the same way as in Opportunities.

SAP Cloud For Customer

1. Go to the Sales work center.
2. Go to the Opportunities view.
3. Open the Opportunity ABC (ABC stand for the Opportunity ID).
4. Go the Involved Parties tab.
5. Click Add and choose Role: Partner.
6. Open the Name OVS.
7. Observe:All types of Business Partners will be listed.

 AND

1. Go to the Sales Quotes view.
2. Open the Quote XYZ (YYZ stand for the Quote ID).
3. Go to the Involved Parties tab.
4. Click 'Add' and choose Role: Partner.
5. Open the Name OVS.
6. Observe:The value help shows exclusively Partners created in work Center Partners.

You have defined in your Business Configuration the Party Role definition:Party Role Z(Party) -> role category 29 (Partner).

This is expected system behavior.

 To achieve this:

1. You will have to change the Party Role definition in your Business Configuration Fine-tuning Activity. The Party Role Category for Z from ‘Partner’ to ‘Other Party’. Then in your Quote the more generic value help will be offered.
2. You could also achieve this by deleting and re-creating the Party Role Z1.

When changing the Party Role Category this will only work for newly created documents. Old documents will still have the old role category.
You can consider to introduce a new Party Role ‘Z-New’ with Party Role Category ‘Other’.

 Hence, before doing any change, you should carefully check if this is what you require in your system.

If for example Party Role Z1 is also used in other objects (for example Activities), you have to check the impact this change would have on those objects and documents,  too.
