2852786 - "Gross Weight for ABC must be greater than or equal to 123 (Net Weight)"

Symptom

You are replicating Material from ERP/S4H to C4C and the following message is being raised "Gross weight for ABC must be greater than or equal to 123 (net weight)"

Environment

Cloud For Customer

Cause

The root cause of this is that the ERP/S4H system allows you to maintain logically "wrong" data. It raises a warning/error on this which can be ignored. C4C is much more restrict here and raises an error if the Gross Weight is smaller than the Net Weight. This data is calculated by the transmitted data.

Resolution

The severity of the error message about the "Gross/Net Weight" in the product master is configurable. So, you can, as in S/4 or ERP lower it to a warning/info or even suppress it, if wanted/needed.

But: This is just the cure of the symptom and not fixing the root cause of wrong data in the source system. The preferable solution should be correct data in the source system. Only as a "last choice", the message severity should be lowered. Also please keep in mind, that, if the quantity conversions/characteristics are used in C4C e.g. in pricing, inconsistent data might cause follow up issues there.

In order to configure the message severity, please follow the below steps:

1. Go to Business Configuration;

2. Click on Overview;

3. Then search for Material Activity;

4. Open it;

5. Click on Message Severity Configuration;

6. Adopt Severity of Messages to your needs.
