2853350 - RFC destination fails (with proxy related messages) in specific clients

Symptom

RFC destination (type G) fails with error messages related to a proxy component. These messages could be, for example, related to proxy authentication issues or proxy network issues.

For example :

  • dev_icm (level 1)

    [Thr <nr>] *** ERROR => IcmConnProxyHandshake: proxy read(<nr>) failed: NIECONN_BROKEN(-6) [icxxioutil.c 287]
  •   ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED
     In the dev_icm file (level 2) when testing the connection:

    [Thr <nr>] IcmGetServicePtr: <hostname>:<port number> - new serv_ref_count: 1
    [Thr <nr>] IcmIConnConnect: proxy connect to <IP address>:<port number>
    [Thr <nr>] NiIGetServNo: servicename '<port number>' = port <port number
