2853694 - Error "Unable to get the Open property of the Workbooks class" in BW Precalculation

Symptom

SAP BW Precalculation failed.

Precalculation Server log "BExPrecalcLog.txt" ends with entry like following:

-> Trying to open "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\SAP Shared\BW\BExAnalyzer.xla"
-> Enter semaphore for BExAnalyzer addin
-> BExExcelPrecDll.ExcelApp: CreateObject for Excel.Application called.  

Broadcasting Log in transaction RSRD_LOG shows:

Untreated exception on the precalculation server
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800 0A03EC): Unable to get the Open property of the Wo
kbooks class

The precalculation works in Console Mode.
