2854687 - Unable to connect to CMS <name>. A wrong connection is made to @@<name>. Logon cannot continue.

Symptom

  • When running ccm.sh -display <cmshost>
        Error description: Unable to connect to CMS fqdn.some.place:6400. A wrong connection is made to @@fqdn.some.place:6400. Logon cannot continue.
    Referenced hostname is for the wrong hostname (correct machine but incorrect network card binding)
  • Logging onto the Central Management Server (CMS) via the Central Management Console (CMC) returns:
        Error Message: "The CMS on machine '<servername>' was stopped due to a critical error. (FWM 20031)"
    even though the CMS is running
