2855466 - What are the actions to perform when a new Super Admin was provided by Support Team

Symptom

What steps should be taken after receiving the new Super Admin access created by the Support Team?

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Resolution

When you receive the Super Admin user created by the Support Team, this user will not have any Role-Based Permissions (RBP) roles or groups assigned. However, this user will have access to the "Manage RBP Admin and Super Admin Access" tool, which allows you to start performing system configurations. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Admin Center > Tools and search for "Manage RBP Admin and Super Admin Access".
  2. Search for the user shared by the Support Team and enable the following permissions: View Group, View Role, Edit Group and Edit Role.
  3. Log out from the system and log in again.

After logging out and logging back in, when you return to Admin Center, you should have access to the RBP features detailed in KBA 2344584.

If this is your first time accessing the system:

  1. Follow KBA 2855468 to create and grant permissions for a generic Super Admin role.

If your instance is already implemented and you have lost access, verify if you have a Super Admin group and a Super Admin role to add this user:

  1. To review the Permission Role, follow these steps:
    1. Go to Admin Center > Manage Permission Roles.
    2. Search for the Roles to identify the Super Admin Role.
    3. Click on the Role and check the Assignments of this Role.
    4. Verify the assigned groups to identify and choose the Permission Group you want to add this user.
  2. To assign this user to a Permission Group, follow these steps:
    1. Go to Admin Center > Manage Permission Groups.
    2. Search for the Permission Group you found on the Super Admin Role.
    3. Click on the Permission Group and add the user to this group.
    4. Log out from the system and log in again.

Note: as of the 2H 2025 Release, the admin tool previously known as Manage Role-Based Permission Access has been renamed to Manage RBP Admin and Super Admin Access. More details can be found in Manage RBP Admin and Super Admin Access.
