2855856 - Copy Background Element Data when Rehiring with New Employment - Employee Central

• Employees can have their Background Element data copied over to new employment during rehire;
• Previously, Background Element data would only be maintained on the original employment and would need to be manually re-imported after the 'Rehire with New Employment' was completed.

Rehiring a terminated employee and copy the Background information to the new employee ID.

When rehiring an employee with the 'New Employment' option, if the configuration switch "Forward Background Elements from Previous (Terminated) employment to next when Rehiring (with New Employment)" is enabled, the system will copy Background Element data from the previous employment record to the new employment.

Please note that as per the current product design, only Employee Profile background elements are supported. Learning, Compensation, Succession, Performance, VRP, and other modules' are not. Some examples of not supported elements are: Performance Potential Trend, Learning History, Variable Pay, Compensation, Preferred Next Move, etc.

How to enable the switch?

1. Navigate to Manage Data
2. Select Hire/Rehire Configuration
3. Select MATCHUSERCONFIG
4. Edit the MATCHUSERCONFIG object and change the setting of Forward Background Elements from Previous (Terminated) employment to next when Rehiring (with New Employment) to 'Yes'

Notes:

• This setting is defaulted to 'No', in order to use this feature, please change it to 'Yes'.
• This feature should only pull the Background Element data from the previous/latest terminated employment - not all previous employments - if the employee has multiple employments.
• If a field is set in Manage Business Configuration as Required but the it is not fulfilled in the previous employment to be copied, the job will fail with error message. You need to ensure that all required fields exists in the previous employment or make the fields not required to avoid the error.
