2856609 - Compensation - Publishing selected users to employee central

Symptom

What is it?

Historically, administrators could publish compensation data back to Employee Central for some, all worksheets or select worksheets on the basis of planners, divisions, departments, and locations.

Administrators can now publish specific employees to Employee Central, multiple employees or create subsets of employees based on custom filters or import via a csv file.

Why is it important?

It adds more flexibility to the publishing process.

Standalone employees can be published and administrators can publish in multiple batches to improve the overall performance of the publishing process.

  • The field selected here will determine the drop-down values  available via the "Publish Selected Employees in Employee Central" screen
  • For example, in the above screen shot we selected the field Country
  • While in the publishing page we will see the following
  • For the values to show in the drop down, at least one worksheet should be in completed status. If all the worksheets are in progress status, the drop down is blank

  • The filtered options from the drop-down are based on what is available within the worksheet
  • The publish filter criteria can be changed dynamically after the launch of worksheets, if at least one worksheet is in completed status
(For example, the filter can be changed from Country to Department following the launch of worksheets provided the Department field is added BEFORE launch)
  • You can search and select employees who are in both completed and live (In-process) forms
  • Select the "Search" button and this will generate a file

  • Download the file to see the results from your filtered selections
  • This will generate a zip file with csv file
  • Only employees who match the filtered options will show in this file
  • For example, this file shows two employees only when I have multiple

example publish ec export file.png

  • When publishing data, if you attempt to publish data for an employee who is part of a live form, then this will fail in the job details and show as skipped

Important

Reportable custom string fields can be configured as a filter option.

This now support across all template types.

You may only use one custom filter option per Compensation template.

Custom field labels will be picked up by the publishing page.

Also, If you select a field ti use for publishing and wish to have this empty, then this will need to be done via the xml directly.

Please download the xml and remove the following tag

<ec-publish-filter fieldId="customField"/>

Upload this via provisioning and when checking employee central settings, you'll see no field selected anymore.
