2856852 - Failed to create model on universe live connection in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) when HANA calculation view includes input parameters

This KBA relates to the legacy version LUC 2.x only. It is heavily recommended to upgrade to LUC 3.x for Full Support and for a much simpler deployment process.

The following error occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) when creating model on universe live connection based on HANA calculation view includeing input parameters:

• IOLayer Error: Error [IOLayer]: (#2001) Unexpected token { in JSON at position 2

This error will not happen if you create derived table in data foundation while creating the universe.

• SAP Analytics Cloud 2019.15.15
• BOE Live Universe Connect (LUC) 2.x 

1. Logon to HANA Studio, create new input parameters on the existing HANA calculation view.
2. Open Information Design Tool, create a new UNX universe on the HANA calculation view.
3. Logon to SAC tenant, create a new Universe Live connection to the universe.
4. Create a new model on the connection, after executing live universe query the error happens.

The error will not happen if you create a derived table in data foundation while creating the universe.

This issue has been identified as product defect.

Install the latest LUC component which is LUC 3.0.
