2857282 - Organizational Org Entity Deprecation

After creating an Organizational entity by mistake, like a Company Code or a Plant, the entity needs to be deleted.

• Central Business Configuration

SAP does not have provision to delete any Organizational Structure Entity for an activated SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system. Once an organizational unit or assignment is confirmed, it cannot be deleted or unassigned. The official suggestion is to maintain the description of the unwanted record as DO NOT USE.

This is also valid to any of the organizational units (Service Structure, for instance) that are covered by the app: once activated, deletion is not possible, and any org. unit relationship created by SAP best practice content scoping bundles.

Once the org. unit or relationship has been activated, it may be used in several other tables and applications, so any attempt to delete such entry could potentially lead to system inconsistencies.

What is possible is the deprecation of certain org. units. This requires an SAP expert configuration which needs to be requested by the customer and signed off, because an SAP service employee will do the requested changes within the customers SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system. Currently, SAP can deprecate these org. units:

• Storage Location, Purchasing Organization, Shipping Point, Sales Group and Sales Office.

The deprecation can be revoked, and this has the consequence that the name of the deprecated org. unit cannot be used again or twice.

Pre-requisites that MUST be performed before a deprecation takes place:

• All the in transit documents related to the Storage Locations need to be closed. Otherwise, an error will show in deprecation.
• All the related material stock needs to be cleared. Otherwise, an error will show in deprecation.
• The Storage location must not be referenced by any Kanban Control cycle or Handling Unit.
• The Storage location must not be Warehouse managed, so all assignments here must be deleted.
• The Storage location must not be referenced in any QM customizing, Inspection Lots, Material Samples, Quality Notifications or Defects.
      For MRP (material requirements planning) related issues, unassign the MRP area to SLOC/Plant using SSCUI 103068.
• All tasks must be done in all systems (Production, Test and Development).
