Symptom
You are trying to set up a replenishment rule for Product Based under a Logistics Area KLM for Product DEF, Error appears
Rule for material DEF not valid; conflict with allowed materials (*KLM refers to Logistics Area, DEF refers to Product id).

Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Supply Chain Design Master Data Work Center
- Navigate to Locations View
- Search for Site DEF *DEF refers to Site id
- Select Edit Layout and select Logistics Area KLM
- Navigate to Under Details and Navigate to Under sub-tab Replenishment and Removal Rules in Product Based Rules
- Maintain Product DEF and other parameters
- Select Save
Cause
In the tab Allowed Products a different product other than DEF has been maintained, hence you can set up replenishment rule only for that product.Under allowed products it's mentioned "You can specify the products that are allowed to be stored in this logistics area. If you do not enter anything on this tab page, all products can be stored in this logistics area."
Resolution
In order to set up replenishment rule for product DEF, you should maintain this product under allowed products tab and then maintain product based rules.
- Go to Supply Chain Design Master Data Work Center
- Navigate to Locations View.
- Search for Site DEF *DEF refers to Site id
- Select Edit Layout and select Logistics Area KLM
- Navigate to sub-tab Restrictions under Details and maintain Allowed Products
- Maintain Product DEF and other parameters
- Select Save
