Symptom

  • You are running installing Restful Interfaces (RI) 
  • RI Tomcat (RiTomcat_ServerName_VUName_RCI) logs capture the following errors:
    • ERR> [Send:POST https://IP:PORT/VU/serviceDiscovery:[RestfulInterfaces/VU_RCI/https://IP:PORT/RI:DPI,CMI,RMI]]
    • javax.ws.rs.ProcessingException: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target  at org.glassfish.jersey.apache.connector.ApacheConnector.apply(ApacheConnector.java:481)
      at org.glassfish.jersey.apache.connector.ApacheConnector$1.run(ApacheConnector.java:491)
      at java.util.concurrent.Executors$RunnableAdapter.call(Unknown Source)
      at java.util.concurrent.FutureTask.run(Unknown Source)
