2859042 - Email information asked when creating a posting profile or group - Recruiting Posting

When creating a Posting Profile or Group (more information here), a field called "Email" is asked. This article explains what the system will use this information for.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

The email address information provided to this field is used as the contact information in the Recruiting Posting system. Which means this email address would be provided as an eventual point of contact between the potential candidate and the company that has the job posted with the job board. However, not every job board uses this field. Some have this information as mandatory (thus, we have it as mandatory too in the posting profile creation form), but the majority of the job boards integrated through Recruiting Posting do not use this information at all.

Please note that:

  • For standalone customers (the ones using RPO only) that are using "email application", the email address of the posting profile is used for the candidate to send the email to apply.
  • Despite of the scenarios mentioned above, the used email address should not be disclosed with candidates and should not receive any other notification due to this setting.
