2859065 - How to Use RBP to Control Photo Visibility in Module Pages and People Search

Symptom

How can users not see the profile photos when searching for other users in search in different module pages?
Configure Role-Based Permissions to control the auto-complete search results of Search in module pages so that the information is provided on a need-to-know basis.
NOTE: This permission does NOT impact behavior of the People Search in the global page header

Reproducing the Issue

Photos are visible when searching for users in search in different module pages.
Photos in search do not respect the RBP permission Employee Data > Photo > View/Edit

Resolution

As part of the 1911 enhancement, administrators can now restrict a user's ability to view another user's photo in module page search via RBP permissions. This will align with certain companies' security policies.

How to enable the functionality?

Navigate to Admin Center > Manage Permission Role
Select role > click "Permission..."
Under User Permissions, select Employee Data > Photo
Enable the View and Edit switches for users to see the photos in search and PP3; and vice versa

If a user has NO permission to see the photo (via Employee Data > Photo > View/Edit), they will only see the default photo.

Where is this functionality available in?

IMPORTANT NOTE: This permission does NOT impact behavior of the People Search in the global page header, which is controlled by a company-level configuration setting and not by role-based permissions.
