2859209 - B1911: Avoid Field Selection from Different Groups in Ad-Hoc Reporting

From b1911 onwards, system restricts selecting fields from more than one group in Ad hoc reports. If any one field is selected from any one view group, then all the other groups would be disabled. This is applicable for the below 4 reports:

• Person and Employment(As of date) report
• Person and Employment Audit report
• Job Information Date Range report
• Foundation Object report

• SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
• Ad hoc Reporting 

1. Navigate to Ad hoc reporting
2. Select any of the above mentioned reports
3. Select any field from any one group eg: Job Information, Personal Information, Employee Information etc.
4. You would see that all the other groups gets disabled and fields cannot be selected from other groups

This feature is implemented as part of 1911 release. The purpose of this feature is to reduce the peformance issues in Ad hoc reports that was mainly caused due to selection of multiple fields from multiple groups.

This feature, when deployed, will enable the switch 'Enable Employee Central Adhoc Report Guardrails' in provisioning, this will be enabled by default in all the 1911 instances, for further details around the rollout of this feature, please refer to KBA 2859632.

Once this switch is enabled, user would not be able to select fields from multiple groups while creating Ad hoc reports. If a field is selected from one group, then all other groups would be disabled to avoid selection. If the requirement is to select fields from different groups in the same report, then the switch should be disabled from back end.

Note: There's no impact on already created reports. The engineering team is considering possibility to allow Employee Information group to be available along with one more group such as Job Information, Personal Information, etc. We don't have any estimation on when this will be implemented. This KBA will be updated once it is implemented.
