Symptom
Sending an e-mail from a Sales Quote or Sales Order has a different 'from' address as expected. For example, it is that of a service channel.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Resolution
- The sender e-mail address (from) is determined from the sales unit.
- If no e-mail address was maintained in the Sales Unit, then it gets pulled from the owner.
- If not available in either of those (1. sales unit, 2. owner) then it will be pulled from the seller.
This is the standard logic and has never changed.
NOTE:
There is a difference in the manner in which "Sender" address is calculated for Output emails (generated emails created by using the actions against a Sales Quote) and activity emails (where a user decides to manually send an email).
The logic "SalesUnit -> EmployeeResponsible -> Seller" is only valid for Output emails.
In case of activity emails, the preference is to set the logged-in user's e-mail address as the sender.
