2863136 - Error While Creating a Service with Copy Source Status From the Existing Service

You are creating a Service YYYYY with Copy Source Status from the existing Service XXXXX. In the new Service YYYYY, while you changed existing unit of measure to a new unit of measure in all the screen (General, Purchase, Sales, Valuation) you see the below error:

Maintain conversions between UoMs XYZ and PQR

XXXXX and YYYYY represent the Service IDs
XYZ and PQR represent the units of measure

Example:
You creating a Service YYYYY with Copy Source Status from the Service ID: XXXXX. In the new service YYYYY, while you changed the UoM from existing m³ - Cubic meter to kW - Kilowatt in all the screens (General, Purchase, Sales, Valuation), you see error:

1. Go to Product Portfolio workcenter
2. Go to Products view
3. Go to By Services sub-view
4. Show All Services
5. Find the Service ID XXXXX
6. Select the button Copy and choose With Source Status
7. On the New Service screen, observe that all the below tabs have the Base UoM as PQR
8. General
9. Purchasing
10. Sales
11. Valuation
12. In each of these tabs, change the Base UoM to XYZ
13. You see the error mentioned error

This behavior occurs only on Copy With Source Status and not on Copy With In Preparation Status. This is because on Copy With Source Status, the original quantity unit of Service used to copy is persisted in the newly copied Service. Therefore, as soon as the system interprets a new quantity unit, it asks for a conversion.

This is a designed system behavior. You may use Copy with In Preparation Status while creating a new Service.
