2863407 - Not Able to Change the Location of Service Provision in a Service Order

You created and saved a service order which is now in status In Preparation. You want to change the service location but the field is not editable anymore.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Service Orders work center.
2. Go to the Service Order Processing view.
3. Select the Service Order ABC you created, which has the status In Preparation (ABC represents the ID of the service order).
4. Click Edit and View All.
5. Go to the General tab.
6. Go to the Account and Affected Product sub-tab.
7. In the Service Location section, you see the Location of Service Provision field is grayed out, you cannot change the value.

In a service order, the Location of Service Provision field can be changed only when there is no item added in the Items tab.

Once an item is present in the service order, the field is set to read only.

1. Go to the Service Orders work center.
2. Go to the Service Order Processing view.
3. Select the Service Order ABC you created, which has the status In Preparation.
4. Click Edit and View All.
5. Go to the Items tab.
6. Select each line item.
7. Click Remove.
8. Go to the General tab, Account and Affected Product sub-tab.
9. In the Service Location section, you see the Location of Service Provision field is editable now.
