2863897 - How to Prevent Auto-Population of Goals on a Performance Form

Symptom

  • This article explains how to configure the Performance Form Template to prevent Personal Goals or Development goals from auto-populating on a newly launched form.
  • This configuration also provides the ability to add existing goals from the Goal Plan to the Performance Form.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Performance Management
  • SAP SuccessFactors Goal Management
  • SAP SuccessFactors Career Development Planning

Resolution

I. Partners & Support Only:

  • The obj-sect-type attribute indicates how to populate the objective section:
    • custom: if you do not want to auto-populate goals on a form when the form is created
    • plan: if you want to auto-populate goals on a form when the form is created. If new goals are created in a Goal Plan after a form has been created, new goals must be added manually to the form unless auto-sync is set to "true".
  • Prevent auto-population of Goals on Performance Form: The following attribute must be configured in the Goal or Development Goal section of the Performance Form XML Template:

<obj-sect-type autosync="false"><![CDATA[custom]]></obj-sect-type>

II. Customers:

  • If you are no longer working with a partner but need the XML updated, you can create a Service Change Request with Product Support using information in 2250186.
  • If you wish to allow employees to add existing goals from their Goal Plan to their Performance Form, the following option should be enabled in Manage Templates > Goal Section:

NOTE: These settings are not dynamic. The settings must be in place prior to launching your Performance Forms. Product Support cannot fix this.
