Symptom

You would like to descope the question "Do you want to use unique identified stock numbers across the system?" when creating a New Change Project in order to use the same Identified Stock ID for a different product.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the work center Business Configuration. 
  2. View Implementation Projects. 
  3. Click the New button.
  4. Go to the Review Questions section. 
  5. Show All Elements. 
  6. Select the scoping element Manufacturing, Warehousing and Logistics. Click the arrow to expand it. 
  7. Select Tracking, Tracing and Identification. Click the arrow to expand it. 
  8. Select Identified Stock. 
  9. Under the Questions for Identified Stock section (on the right hand side of the screen) you will find the question "Do you want to use unique identified stock numbers across the system?". 

Cause

The question "Do you want to use unique identified stock numbers across the system?" is protected question, meaning a decision has to be taken at the time of the go-live only and changing the scoping later can lead to inconsistencies in the system because of which the system does not allow this question to be descoped afterwards.

Resolution

As per the standard system behaviour it is not possible to descope the question "Do you want to use unique identified stock numbers across the system?".
