Symptom
Execute a database table query with the Open SQL Data Browser. See Using Open SQL Data Browser. The server crashes with outofmemory as can be seen in dev_server* and std_server* logs:
***ERROR (:0): OutOfMemoryError: Could not allocate 48 bytes
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
Dumping heap to OOM.hprof ...
Analysis of the OOM.hprof file shows entries like this:
One instance of "com.sap.sql.itsam.databrowser.persistence.ColumnValueDO[][]" loaded by "sap.com/tc~opensql~databrowser~wd" occupies 320,784,472 (11.01%) bytes. The memory is accumulated in one instance of "com.sap.sql.itsam.databrowser.persistence.ColumnValueDO[][]" loaded by "sap.com/tc~opensql~databrowser~wd".
